Himalayan Salt Lamps

Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps are believed to create negatively charged ions in the air. This is a good thing because modern day pollution and electrical equipment creates positive ions in the air which are potentially harmful to us and cause air quality in areas affected to deteriorate. By using a Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp you replace the negatively charged ions in the air which helps us to avoid the alleged physical and mental harm that the ‘electric smog’ creates.

Other sources of negatively charged ions include waterfalls and the sea, with up to 10,000 negative ions per cubic metre apposed to just 100 negative ions per cubic metre in the city at rush hour.

Not only are these lamps a beautiful addition to any home or office, but they are also negative ionisers.

What does this mean?
Put simply, salt is hydroscopic and evaporation of water through salt emits negative ions. However, the small 15-40 watt, bulb produces heat, which evaporates the moisture attracted to the rock. It is during this evaporation process that the electron is ejected from one molecule and attaches itself to another producing a negatively charged ion.

bulb & plug. Rather than sell them by size we sell them by approximate weight. Items are marked with sizes to give a rough idea of size only, each lamp is completely unique.
